30 things to do in a 5 minute study break

During my studies these past few days I have been using the incredible Pomodoro Technique with a clever app on my phone (BeFocused – focus timer and goal tracker) to keep track of my study. However, I often reach my 5 minute break and just sit and stare at the wall, or check Facebook AGAIN.

So, I wrote up a list of 30 things to do during a 5 minute study break to keep things interesting for me (and hopefully you) during the day.

  1. Quick guided meditation.
  2. Take a walk.
  3. Stretch.
  4. Quick workout – push ups, sit ups, star jumps.
  5. Clean up your desk.
  6. Have a HEALTHY snack.
  7. Do something around the house (fold laundry, empty dishwasher).
  8. Make your bed.
  9. Water the plants.
  10. Read a few pages of a book.
  11. Write in your journal.
  12. Listen to a great song.
  13. Colour in a printable colouring page.
  14. Origami.
  15. Write a to-do list.
  16. Message a friend just to say hi.
  17. Edit/begin writing a blog post.
  18. Clean out your handbag/wallet/both.
  19. Play a song on the guitar.
  20. Have a glass of water.
  21. Have a chat with someone in your house.
  22. Catch up on the news of the day.
  23. Change outfit (for laughs).
  24. Watch short youtube video.
  25. Pet your pet…
  26. Make a cup of tea/coffee.
  27. Quick shower.
  28. Play around with your hair.
  29. Do a little drawing.
  30. Just lie down and chill.
